The first one was at a club called Vagon in Prague. Nice basement bar setting with lots of smoke. I guess I'm not so much used to that anymore since the ban on smoking indoors here.
The band, Uz Jsme Doma, a name which I have no idea how to pronounce, played that night, the only one too. I looked them up before attending the show and read that they had a sound similar to Magma.
Now Magma is a french band with a progressive/funk/jazz fusion/art-rock kind of sound that started in 1969. The only reason I know of this band is because I picked up a copy of the album, Attahk, which had cover art done by H.R. Giger. Fantastic album by the way. And dope artwork.
Any way, I thought this might be my one chance to ever see a band like this. And they were pretty amazing. I don't know what they were singing about, but the music was a trip to listen to and see performed. They did a couple encores. And I picked up a couple records.
