Look! Look! Another Kickstarter campaign, this time it's for Ninjas with Syringes from Portland, Oregon. They're looking to raise funds for a new van to play outside of Portland! I wish the van were capable of water travel so they'd come play on this side of the pacific ocean. That would be the coolest thing. Or just get a submarine. Their newest EP, Railroader is streaming on Bandcamp HERE. Check it out. In their Kickstarter video, a piano/acoustic guitar version of Faceful of Lead is performed in the background. check it check it check it

WeCameFromWolves just recently released a new song titled, Cope. It's streaming right now on their BANDCAMP or check it out below. The song is from their upcoming EP. If they get enough "likes" on their FACEBOOK, something like 2,000, they'll post the entire EP up for stream. I really want to hear this :-D like like like like like :-D check it check it check it. New song sounds dope. Another cool Kickstarter campaign. This one will go toward helping Rabbit Troupe and Radio Control with pressing their upcoming split onto vinyl. The new split will be released during the summer. Rabbit Troupe released their EP, Treasures Are Miniscule, in January, check out on their Bandcamp here. Radio Control had released their debut album, Hot Audio, last April, check it out on their Bandcamp here. Candy Warpop recently released a music video for the song Smilefucker from their Pre-Op Lollipop EP. This five-piece is a rock band from Las Vegas. I got to see them play at Neon Reverb. It was a very energetic live set, I'm glad I got to see them play. The video they produced is a bit odd, weird, and creepy. The creepy part is when the singer (in the form of a pinata star) starts getting beat and candy is falling out (candy, lollipops?). A kind of Twilight Zone creepy, like when in the movie (Twilight Zone) where the girl gets trapped in the TV set and gets killed by a cartoon character. Yeah, creepy. Very cool video though, I like it a lot. Maybe they'll continue the story of the birthday girl in a second music video for the remix version of Smilefucker off of Post-Op Lollipop, like California Love. That would be cool too. Check it check it. Wish I could go to this next Saturday. What an excellent lineup of punk-pop and rock. I've never heard any tunes from The Shake Up or From Here To LA until just a little bit ago. But would love to see Science Fiction Theatre and Indian School sometime.
Indian School will officially be releasing their new 6 song EP, The Cruelest Kind, on March 5. But you can actually pick it up through Walnut Tree Records right now. I got my copy a little bit ago and love everything about it. Science Fiction Theater will be releasing their second album sometime this year. Possibly in May? Check out the song Taking Flight streaming on their Bandcamp right now. I was lucky enough to pick up their Holiday EP, Songs for Cold Weather, before it was taken down. It came with the track they produced a while back that was played on another radio show/podcast with I think Chris Hardwick and guest, Kevin Smith. Nice batch of songs though. Looking forward to hearing some more new tunes from these guys. And of course, Rufio. Maybe they'll stop by the islands again sometime? Who knows. Would love to hear all of Anybody Out There live. Yes, I would like that a lot. Check out a tune from an upcoming split with Fools Rush and Abolitionist. Fools Rush track is titled, Taker Thunderbolt. Maybe a release date in the next couple weeks? Listen below. Another cool Kickstarter Campaign. This one comes from Stolas, a progressive rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. The band features members of The Akashic Record, Inherit the Sky and Elessar. Stolas' sound is similar to the bands mentioned, maybe a bit more experimental, but be sure to check out their tunes on their Facebook. Pledges for this project will go toward the release of their EP, Losing Wings, as well as gas funds for their upcoming tour in March. |
