The compilation, Sí San José, features nine bands local to San Jose, Costa Rica with two tracks from each of the bands. Produced by Vito Petruzzelli, Daniel Ortuño, and Adrian Poveda, the compilation features tracks by Las Robertas, The Great Wilderness, The Tower, Niño Koi, Monte, Polar, Los Problemas, Zopilot!, and Continental. The songs were recorded live in an old house by each of the bands using only a board mixer and four-track cassette recorder. Each of the songs were recorded in one take with some overdubbed vocals. The songs vary from band to band, with some being a bit more punk influenced than others. There's a bit of rockabilly and even tracks with some electronica and others just strictly instrumental compositions. It's a nice variety of tunes from the San Jose local scene. And Sí San José is not just a compilation of songs, it's also a documentary. More info on that will be posted on their website soon. Check some of the music out.
