Summer break has officially started! For me anyway. But, just a nice little break. Public schools are still in session though, and graduation ceremonies still to be had. Congrats to all of you Class of 2016 graduates, good luck to you!
I went to a show this past Thursday. Kind of happened randomly. My bro was in town for a job interview and his last night here, me, him and his friend cruised into downtown to get a few drinks. Decided on DownBeat Lounge because of the seating. Turned out a fundraiser show was happening that same night. SWEET. Got to see Emu Attack, Young Gods, Aura Bora, and the Anime Club. All excellent bands. Hope to see them again in the future. Oh and I got to try Dead Guy beer for the first time. Pretty good, not as dark as I thought it'd be, cuz of the name and all.
Today's episode features some punk rock based tunes, with a hint of some punk-ska. Opening the show is Holding Onto Sound (FACEBOOK), who just played this past Friday. Their last show was back in 2013. It must have been a freakin' sweet show. I saw pictures posted online. Looks like it was fun. Wish I could have been there. Also on the episode is Chimp Change (BANDCAMP), finally got around to playing a track from their latest release, Type Zero Civilization, which is probably also their last release. I also play a track from the latest Still Alive (BANDCAMP) album, Choices, with hard copies available from Jump Start Records. Another local Las Vegas band is on the episode, Iliicitor (BANDCAMP). I hope they release some new music soon. And the new track this week comes from Abandin All Hope's album, Final Act of Selflessness (BANDCAMP), released at the beginning of this year. It's their fifth album! Really tight punk pop and rock with bits of ska throughout the album.
