1. Pens
Pens were a three-piece indie rock band from London. They played experimental pop that often consisted of loud percussive noise played on top of some nice synth sounds and harsh, but sweet vocals. The guitars were played with fuzzy and distorted sounds, but blended really well with the other instrumentals and with their style of writing. They also played some really sweet pop-rock. Pens released one album titled, Hey Man! What You Doing (2009), and the single (2010) , Love Rules / You Only Love Me When I Tell You I'm Wrong, both released through DE STIJL RECORDS. They also produced a music video for the song, High in the Cinema (check it out HERE). The band played their last show in June 2010, but played a second “last show,” with Teeth and others in August 2011. Pens' song on this episode is titled, Freddy, off of, Hey Friend! What You Doing.
