- EPISODE #64 is ready for launch! Listen to the episode HERE. Download the episode HERE.
Looks like summer is about to start. And by summer, I mean, it's beginning to get hot here. The sun is out early, it sets a little later. But for some reason, there's still rain. Some rain. I'm hoping that'll stop soon. Did anyone check out the new Godzilla? A couple of my friends didn't think too much of it. A couple others enjoyed it. Looks good to me, but Edge of Tomorrow is gonna by my summer flick to check out. Live. Die. Repeat. Oh man!!
On today's episode, I have a couple new tracks from some recently released albums, both through Flannel Gurl Records. Opening the episode is a track from The Caution Children, from Florida. They have a new LP out titled, Safe Crusades/No Judgments/And Baby. It's a nice album that expands its' sounds from track to track, with long drawn out chords and heavy vocals. Nice blend of aggressiveness and on and off ambiance. Also on the show is Citycop, with a track from their re-release of, The Hope of Forgiving and Giving Up Hope. Flannel Gurl Records pressed it on vinyl and released it with some new artwork. Really nice jams on this one. The band will be on tour for most of June and a couple dates in July. They have dates on the West Coast and North West and what looks like quite a few house shows, with one in Las Vegas! That should be fun. Also going on tour (Spreadin' the Rash 2014 tour) will be Rational Anthem with dates beginning two weeks into June till the first week of August. That will be a nice run of shows all along the country. On the show is a track from their 2013 release, Whatevermind, one of my favorite albums to come out last year. Great punk-pop coming from Florida. But they all ready of a new album out titled, Emotionally Unavailable, up for purchase on their Bandcamp HERE. Also with a bunch of shows is Abandin All Hope, from Canada. Looks like the stops will be on their native territory though. On this episode is a track from their newest EP, Observe this Sheer Havoc, which can be picked up on Bandcamp HERE. Nice fast punk and a bit of ska riffage too. Another one of my favorite records to come out last year was Challengers', Agh!!!, released through RMA Records. Excellent punk-pop and indie rock from this trio. The band is based in Madrid, Spain. They need to come to this side of the world sometime. Or at least the states. Agh!!! Also on the show is Sweet Weapons, with a track from their album, All My Best Friends are Dogs, available on vinyl through Escapist Records. Really nice punk-pop from this New Mexico quartet. And of course, Trash Monsters are on the show with a song from their album, There's a Rat in the Tunnel of Love. Nice rock n'roll punk and rockabilly from this Orange County, California based band. Really dig the harmonies in their tunes.
Hope you enjoy the tunes from these bands. Check them out on their respective Bandcamps' or at a show. I'm hoping to catch Rational Anthem at their Boston stop. I'll be in that city that weekend, and hopefully can find my way around hehe. Never been before. Anyone going to attend the Good Riddance show next week Friday? It's almost HERE!! Stoked. Anyway, Support Independent Music! and your local scene! Thanks for stopping by. And always, thanks for listening :-D

- EPISODE #63 is finally here! Listen to the episode HERE. Download the episode HERE.
So how goes it? This podcast went away for a bit to take a nap only to sleep in. But now it's awake! Hehe. I took some time to catch up on some stuff and looks like I can start bringing back episodes. I missed it too much.
Did everyone have a good Record Store Day? Checked out the good deals. Lots of exclusive records, like The Dresden Dolls first album, but some were a bit too pricey. Only picked up a copy of Desert Rats with Baseball Bats II compilation released through Squidhat Records. Check it out HERE. It features some of Las V
egas finest on there. Other than that, I was all about the $1 bin and discount CDs that day :-D
On today's episode, I have tracks from a bunch of my favorite releases from last year. Opening the show is a track from Siblings self-titled record. They played their last show back in October, but did release three final songs since then. Check it out HERE. Strike to Survive also played their last show recently, earlier this year I believe. They released one last album titled Yesterday's News. Check it out HERE. Another new one from last year was the album, Renacer, by Senses Fail. I don't know which one I like more, Renacer or Life is Not a Waiting Room. I think though, Renacer, is probably the happier of the two, heavier, but Waiting Room has some pretty tight guitar work.
A lot of my favorite bands did crowd funded campaigns, a majority of them successful, a handful not so much. The one Spencer Moody put together didn't work out which was a bummer. Maybe not enough people knew about it? or maybe he just set his goal a bit high. I do hope he comes out with something new though. But Calculator did put one together (I think it was more like a pre-order) and the end result is their latest album, This Will Come to Pass. Stream it and pick up a copy for yourself HERE. American Standards, from Arizona, also ran a successful campaign which will be a new EP coming out sometime soon. But the track I have on here is one from their latest, The Death of Rhythm and Blues. Check it out HERE. Closing out the show is a track from Drag Me Under from Reno, Nevada. Their album, Dead Dudes on Dead Horses, was recently released on vinyl format through Panda Claw Records. Very heavy stuff, excellent, and mosh friendly. Yup yup. Stream it and pick up a copy HERE or get a physical copy HERE.
Enjoy the tunes on this episode. Then go see the bands play live somewhere. Stop by again in the coming weeks for a new episode. Until then, check out this part of the site HERE, for other random goodies. And always, thanks for listening :-D
