1. Say Revenge!
Say Revenge! are a four-piece from San Antonio, Texas that play a mixture of punk, pop and rock n' roll. The band comprises of Gigi (vocals), Mari (guitar), Franken-Eddie (drums), and Chris (bass). They will be releasing their debut record, Rough Night, Sugar?, on September 30, 2011, in their hometown at the Nightrocker. Check here for more details about that show. Two songs from the new album (Everybody Likes Zombies, Ex's and Oh's) are currently available for streaming on their facebook and reverbnation pages. 2. Challenger!
Challenger!, are a four-piece punk band from Madrid, Spain. They play a pretty tight style of rock and punk. Their most recent release is titled, Ümelsion (2010), featuring 10 songs of charged up indie rock and punk. The album is full of fuzzy guitars and bass, loud drums, and the occasional sounds of gang vocals. The band also produced a music video for one of the tracks, My Man, which can be viewed here. Other songs from previous records can also be heard on the band's myspace here. The song on this episode is titled, Heart Attack, off of, Ümelsion.
3. Neckties Make Me Nervous
Neckties Make Me Nervous was a punk band from Portland, Oregon. The band is no longer active. They released two 7” records, their first being a self-titled record, and their last, (I'm the Captain and I'm Telling You) This Ship is Fucked, released through Code of Ethics Records. The song, Eat the Knife, from their self-titled record appeared on Episode 19. The song on this episode is titled, Apartments, off of (I'm the Captain and I'm Telling You) This Ship is Fucked. Two other tracks, Old Tats and Oxygen Masks and Hopeful Arrows, can also be streamed on the band's myspace.
4. Talky Tina
Talky Tina are a power pop trio from San Jose, California. Their songs have a great deal of pop in them with a good attitude and their newer material should be just as promising. Right now, Talky Tina are writing and recording new songs for an upcoming EP. The material that is currently on their reverbnation and facebook pages are made up of songs from another EP titled, Don't Go, and a handful of others from previous sessions. The band has also produced a music video for the song, Drugster, which can be viewed here. That song will be on a new release. The song on this episode is titled, Don't Go, the title track of their previous EP.
5. The Kobanes
The Kobanes are a three-piece punk band from Chicago, Illinois. They play Ramones style punk rock with upbeat tunes and catchy choruses. The guitars are pretty infectious too, with some pretty tight leads and melodies on all of their songs. Other albums from this band include Public Affection (2008) and Japan Invasion (2009). Their newest release is titled, False Accusation, released in May 2011. The album includes a cover of the Ramones, The KKK Took My Baby Away, and a new version of the song, E.T. Phone Home (originally on Public Affection). The song on this episode is titled, 2 Years Left, off of, False Accusation.
