April went by so quickly, so fast, I didn't release a single thing the entire month. Went to a few shows though. But it's calmed down a bit. May is looking good so far! And this is the bulk of what I know of at the moment. Three acoustic sets happening at Proof (I get off work at 7pm though). I also saw that it's pasta night too! I haven't seen a Louis Miller set yet, but it's always a delight to see Jonny Random and Mophead.
Infra Combo will be playing first Wednesdays at Kalihi Valley Station. I haven't been to this place yet, but it looks like a sweet spot, small and only get street parking. And I read that the 2nd part of the band's set, people can join the band and recite poetry or tell stories and they'll provide background music. Hope to make it out to one of these sets.
Might get a little rowdy at Proof. A solid lineup, but I still haven't seen Yeobo yet and it's about time that I do (Dribble and Iliad too). I've seen Last Resort a couple times (or maybe once), but they made a lasting impression with solid musicianship and good energy. I hope get pasta at this show too.
If I can only go to one show or dedicate one day to shows it would be Saturday May 16. I haven't been to the Dragon Upstairs yet, and it might be time that I do. A free show with Hell Caminos and Wally Brando? Hells Yesh, please and THANK YOU. Wally Brando is such a fun band to see live, pretty infectious punk rock. And I don't think I've seen Hell Caminos enough this year and it's only May (How many shows have they played so far this year?) And they be creating new tunes too, excited to hear those. And if my body will allow it (and it must! I'll force it), I'm gonna run over to Irish Rose. COMEBACK REWIND. YUP. I like see Tino play. Missed his set at Big City Diner and I don't intend to miss this one. And it's been a month since I last saw Never Enough. And Full Send gonna bring the ruckus and shenanigans (When is the LIVE album coming out?). Jackie Chan the Band released a new album recently and I'd like their whole set to be that entire thing and more. PLEASE?This gonna be a fun OAMP.
Been a while since I saw Cmplx last....did they play Pi-Day? Missed out on that one. Mara Bloom should be playing if they presenting?? They killed it at Speed. But I'm glad Secret Others are playing, what a solid set at their first show. And Switch have been such a fun band to see, with each passing show. Their live show is always better then the last. Hurry up and release some tunes. Listening to Bobbo right now, sweet tunes, indie pop and rock.
A visiting band from Big Island? YES PLEASE. Hope to make it out to this one. It's not until June though, so no reason to miss it. And it's also with Granite Saints. and FREE.
Show of the year on this one. Already got my ticket. Words cannot express how excited I am for this one. Actually, one can express it. EXCITED. I thought Potluck were done. But they got another reason to play. And the other 4 bands? More on this later. It's in July. Mark your calendars. Clear your schedules. This is the one show to look forward to this year.
