“I think we are Dying Fest,” with a fun lineup of indie rock and pop. I all ready feel the good vibes from just looking at this flyer.
I hope to make it to all these shows. Wishful thinking. April looking busy already.

It’s almost mid-way through March and I all ready checked out a couple rad shows. The first one was the Anberlin show at Hawaiian Brian’s. It was my first time seeing them and I’ll take any opportunity to see a current / former Tooth and Nail band for sure, although I’ve missed a couple in the past (The Devil Wears Prada…Underoath). Not sure if any of the current members were in SAGOH 24/7, that’d be rad though. And The Bougies got to open up! They mentioned it was like 8 years since the band played last, and I’m happy they had merch to sell (I snatched up their CD’s right after their set). I feel like I’ve seen they play once before, but I can’t recall. The pandemic really was something. But they did play a wonderful set and I’m happy to have been a part of their brief reunion. Amberlin’s set was loud and chaotic, and what a light show! That was a sight to see. And I got to see a lot of homies in the pit. It was a fun night. Never Enough’s album release for, “Turnstile,” was just a fun, lovely show. And Otto was in town! I’m so happy to be able to see him play. And to have sat and chatted with him on the radio. Met a few cool people at the show and saw several homies too. It was a dope time. More on that show sometime on SUBSTACK. Another thing, can’t confirm this, but is Anna O’Briens closing down after this month? Not sure what this means starting next month. These next few shows I’m hoping to attend will all be at Anna’s. “I think we are Dying Fest,” with a fun lineup of indie rock and pop. I all ready feel the good vibes from just looking at this flyer. I went to this pi-day show last year and caught the tail-end of it with Mara Bloom and cmplxhi. This one looks like a solid mix of indie pop and heavy. Saydie be jumping on some shows as of late which is dope. And I get to see Secret Others again, featuring members of Mara Bloom and Convoluted Planes. Sumor be dropping some heavy tunes too, and it’s gonna smooth out with lovely Mauve melodies. I didn’t think I’d have to ever work out just to keep up at punk shows, but lately I’ve been running out of steam quite easily. Yikes. I anticipate tiring out quite fast at this show. It’ll be a treat to check out Chuck (ya gotta search Lucerne Valley’s Chuck on streaming platforms), Anti-Matter’s Chris’ former band (he played drums in it. I didn’t know he played drums, not until that one time I saw him play drums for Undercity Kings in 2023). And finally I get to see Superfuct again. I heard they were originally set to open up for Lagwagon when they were supposed to play back in March 2020. Why it changed, I don’t know… An early show, on a Tuesday for St. Paddy’s Day? All the right bands. This is going to be super fun. Finally, a release from Banana Jazz. I lost count the amount of times I’ve seen them play and it would usually be at Manifest of Bevy. One of those places…and once (or twice?) at Proof. Such a lovely band. One of these days I’d love to hear them tackle any Gradius and/or Life Force in their set. I would absolutely go bonkers. This mini rock fest looks sick. And it’s gonna be at Rock Bottom? I’d walk past that place a bunch of times, on my way to and from class at UH. I’ve only been in there for a birthday party. And the lineup is stacked. I’m curious as to how the crowd will be. It feels like it’s gonna be different. And it starts early afternoon. On a Sunday. WONDERFUL. It’s Twin Fin’s EP release show. I wonder if they’ll have copies at the show? And at The Republik? That’s dope, only local bands playing (Natural Vibes and Turning Roots be opening up).
I hope to make it to all these shows. Wishful thinking. April looking busy already.
