1. Blighted

Picture
Blighted is a four-piece hardcore band based in Southern California. The band released its self-titled LP in September 2010. The LP was recorded by Alex Estrada at Earth Capital Recordings and features six tracks in less than 13 minutes. But from start to finish, the music is consistently raw and aggressive. The instrumentals keep fast and chaotic from song to song, alongside Jake McCarty's powerful vocals. The record doesn't slow down one bit during the first eight minutes of play. The final track, 12:32, does make a sudden tempo change, showcasing the band's signature sound without words. The song featured on this episode is titled, Overrun, off of the self-titled LP.

2. Kill the Masses

Picture
Kill the Masses recently changed their name to Aechoes. This five-piece deathcore/hardcore band, formed in 2008, are from Las Vegas, Nevada and are currently writing and recording new material. The last album released by Kill the Masses was their 2009 self-titled record. The record was released independently and features 11 tracks that span a wide range of influences from metal to hardcore and at times, some deathcore. The vocal work is as diverse as well, often switching it up with different ranges and styles. Some sweet breakdowns flood this record too. The song featured on this episode is titled, Yellow #5, off of their self-titled album.

Other projects: Aechoes.

3. No History of Violence

Picture
No History of Violence is from La Grande, Oregon which includes members from Hadley's Hope and No Cash Value. No History of Violence represented one of the finer hardcore bands in the college town of La Grande's small music scene. The band had several live recordings, but released only one EP, appropriately titled, EP Minus One. It contained only four songs (Bones, Cold Awakening, Bite the Bullet, Dying to Survive), three of which can be heard on the band's myspace. The last show No History of Violence played was in Fall of 2009 and has been inactive since then. The song featured on this episode is Bite the Bullet, off of, EP Minus One.
